Maternity Reflexology

I am a fully qualified Maternity Reflexologist. I trained with Susanne Enzer, an eminent maternity reflexologist whose work is widely respected around the world.

Reflexology is excellent for maintaining a balance during the rapid changes of pregnancy. Many of the minor ailments of pregnancy may respond well to reflexology such as:

  • Backache
  • Rib pain
  • Groin pain / round ligament pain
  • Heartburn
  • Symphysis Pubis Disorder (SPD) or Pelvic Disorder Syndrome (PDS)
  • Vomiting - Morning sickness
  • Constipation / Diarrhoea / Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Frequency of micturition / Cystitis / Urinary Tract Infection
  • Palpitations
  • Anaemia
  • Varicose veins
  • Cramps in the legs
  • Oedema (moderate swelling of the ankles and hands)
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Sciatica
  • Headaches
  • Itchy skin
  • Fatigue
  • Insomnia
  • Mood swings

Symphysis Pubis Disorder (SPD) or Pelvic Disorder Syndrome (PDS)

I have achieved amazing results when treating women suffering from SPD (or PDS as it is sometimes known). Every woman I have treated has said they have felt a dramatic improvement within days. I incorporate alot of relaxing, soothing massage into the treatment to alleviate pain and stress as this can be a very debilitating condition.

The treatment needs to be carried out on three consecutive days. If it is not possible for you to visit this number of times I can draw the specific reflex point onto your feet and your partner can treat the area for you at home.

Is reflexology successful at inducing labour?

Reflexology can be very successful for inducing labour. However, I will not attempt this unless you are full-term.
